“With Korean brothers” SSG welcome faces, surprise reunion in Miami

Wilmer Font, who won the SSG Landers championship, met some familiar faces.

On the 5th (hereafter Korean time), Font posted a photo on his social media account with the caption, “With my Korean brothers.” In the photo, SSG pitcher Choi Min-joon, Oh Won-seok, and the staff who were in charge of interpreting the font were together. He also left a ‘proof shot’ of eating Korean barbecue together at a Korean restaurant in Miami.

The meeting took place during a camp break. Font is currently in private training in Florida. It’s not far from Vero Beach, Florida, where SSG first-team spring camp is set up. The 4th was the first rest day after SSG’s Florida Camp started. So, we met in Miami and had a meal together and had a nice reunion. Even when he was playing in the KBO League, it was a font that was famous for his love for Korean food, including jajangmyeon and other ingredients and types. As I was a teammate just a few months ago, I couldn’t help but be more glad to see you in a foreign country.

Font has been active as a member of SSG for two seasons, 2021-2022. In his first season, he went 8-5 with a 3.46 ERA, and last year he went 13-6 with a 2.69 ERA, serving as the team’s first starter. Of course, he was subject to renewal, but Font chose to try again in the major leagues. 먹튀검증

Unfortunately, Font signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres last month, not a major league contract. It’s not a good condition, but he got a chance to try again towards his dream in the big leagues. Font has signed a contract that includes an invitation to major league spring training, and San Diego will begin training for pitchers and catchers in Arizona in mid-February. Fonts are also expected to join at this time.
