Professional basketball league Day One to move to Busan, South Korea

It has been revealed that professional basketball team Goyang Day One is in talks with the city of Busan to relocate its affiliation 메이저놀이터.

A representative of Day One told Newsis on the 24th, “We are in talks with Busan City. I understand that the management is talking about relocating the association.”

Day One’s push to relocate to Busan became known on the 23rd when the Busan City Hall posted a notice titled ‘Opinion Notice for Attracting a Men’s Professional Basketball Team’ on the information disclosure portal.

Dayone was founded by Dayone Sports, whose co-chairman is former national coach Heo Jae “Basketball President” Heo, after acquiring the Goyang Orion professional basketball team at the end of last season.

However, it had a rocky start.

After twists and turns due to delays in joining the KBL, the team was approved to join and attracted Carot Insurance as a naming sponsor, but it became controversial when it failed to meet the deadline to pay the first installment of 500 million won in membership fees in early October last year.

The team continued to struggle financially throughout the season, falling behind on player salaries, and the sponsorship agreement was terminated at the end of last month.

Amid growing doubts about the club’s survival, the organization discussed relocating to Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, last month, but the move fell through due to lack of interest.

Looking for a new home, DaeWon recently entered into discussions with Busan and is in the process of finding an agreement.

“We’re not at the stage where we can say anything concrete yet. But we are talking,” he said.
