Korea faced Puerto Rico in Taichung, Taiwan on Saturday (June 6) in the final game of Group A of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Baseball World Cup.
After Puerto Rico scored a run in the top of the first inning and the bases were loaded, the game was suspended due to rain. The game resumed after some time, and Korea scored five runs in the top of the first inning with the bases loaded to take a 5-1 lead, but then the rain came down again.
In the top of the third inning, with South Korea leading 5-1, the rain came down in torrents. After waiting for three to four hours, the game was called off. It became a suspended game.

South Korea is tied for second place with Puerto Rico (3-1) and has clinched at least third place in the group and a spot in the Super Round, which is awarded to the top three finishers in each group.
The top three teams from Pools A and B will play a pooled Super Round, with the combined record determining the finalists and the third- and fourth-place finishers.
In Group B, No. 1 USA (4-1), No. 2 Japan (4-1), and No. 3 Netherlands (4-1) advanced to the Super Round. In Group A, Chinese Taipei topped the group with five wins.
